Title - Medical Writer

The Medical Writer is responsible for the preparation of clinical documents that support the publication and regulatory writing needs of assigned products.
This position reports to the Manager, Medical Writing.
Responsiblities:
• Responsible for preparing primary and secondary publications, and regulatory documents. Ensures that accurate, quality documents are prepared on schedule.
• Assists other medical writers.
• Primary contact for publications and regulatory documents. Participates in projects.
• With general direction, prepares clinical trial reports, abstracts and posters for presentation slide kits, clinical trial protocols, primary and secondary publications and other scientific communication documents, that support the medical, marketing, and regulatory needs of a project.
• Interacts with other departments.
• Remains current with various guidelines for both regulatory documents as well as for publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Remains current with the published literature of company and competition products and developments
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• B.S., B.Pharm, M.S. with four (4) or more years of related pharmaceutical industry (e.g., medical writing, clinical research, regulatory affairs, marketing) experience OR Ph.D./Pharm. D. with two (2) or more years of relevant academic and/or industry experience.
• Demonstrated scientific writing (e.g., manuscripts, research grants, etc…) ability.
• General understanding of statistical methods.
• Ability to learn and understand regulatory and drug development processes and requirements.
• Generally proficient in the use of computer software.

Lead and develop sales teams. Develop sales strategies that lead to increase profitability and maximize sales objectives. Works well in a team environment
Manages a region’s sales force of Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives.
Works closely with Manager(RBD), peers and the home office, physicians, associations, field and home office personnel.
Oversee regional account relationship development/management.
Manage critical regional account relationships and set account relationship development objectives for regional staff.
Ensure appropriate level of coordination to attain regional business plan objectives.
Review and audit expense reports.
Develop and monitor performance against regional budgets.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of administrative requirements.
Bachelors Degree required
Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience required.
Two years previous supervisory experience preferred.
